  • CheckWX widgets will allow webmasters to display METAR (plain and decoded) weather reports on their own site.
  • RSS feeds will be added to all weather stations. You’ll be able to keep track of the weather using your favorite reader.
  • Localized time in addition to the UTC time will be displayed on all weather reports.

We decided to implement Google ads to defray costs of running this site. We have a yearly cost to register our domain names, a monthly cost for web hosting, and miscellaneous costs for software tools used to create our site. We have tried to keep the number and placement of the Google ads to a minimum. We want to keep this site free as opposed to those ‘monthly membership’ weather sites.  If the Google ads are too obtrusive, please let us know and we will try to scale them back as much as possible.

  • Moved to a new web host with improved server response times.
  • Added tabbed interfaces to our weather station layout.
  • Updated our weather trends and statistical graphs.
  • Removed the default IFR map on the home page to speed up the load time.
  • Added sunrise/sunset information to the weather station tab.
  • Created a search header which is now displayed on all pages for faster station lookups.

We hope you like our changes and we welcome any suggestions for future improvements.
